I have lived near airports and in large cities with lots of air traffic. There is something quite unique about the aircraft in this area. We have the usual passenger aircraft and maybe a little more of the cargo type.
We also have a good amount of military aircraft daily over the city, because of the air base located here. I am always thrilled to see these guys fly and when I took that float plane trip we saw them off to our left as we took off.
Then we have the float planes.
As well as their counterpart who take off and land on solid surfaces.
On most days it is a combination of all the above flying. At just about any time of day I can look up and see 3 or 4 or 5 of the small aircraft, then look to the airport and see commercial, and if I catch it just right I can see one of the Air Force aircraft.
I have never on a daily basis experienced this level of air travel and the variety one only sees in an air show. There are also helicopters to add to the performance. You constantly hear something from the sky, even on cloudy and rainy days.
There is an air show scheduled for the end of July and the Blue Angels are among those flying that day. I can hardly wait.
