These are streets of Ukrainian Village, a neighborhood in Chicago that people from there settled into many years ago.

As you walk any of the streets the flags are everywhere and the ties to country are very real. The pride is obvious on the faces of the people here, along with the fear. I am grateful to be here at this historic moment. #thursdaydoors-ukranianvillageinchicago

What an eloquent post, speaking of both sorrow and strength.

Beautiful and I love seeing all the flags and encouragement! We lived in Naperville for a number of years but never saw this part of Chicago.

What a lovely and fitting post for the times we live in. The courage of these people is inspirational. It also focusses on how important freedom is, to the ones who have been oppressed before.

If only the streets in Ukraine looked that beautiful. Hopefully someday sooner than later they will or at least can start repair work to get there

Yes, it’s very difficult to see beautiful places destroyed.
